Pitch your brand client a video: Part 4 – A series might get the most out of your campaign

November 3rd, 2010 by Dan Fitzpatrick

We often see campaigns that have great potential but fall into the trap of ‘the 8 week campaign’. Online content is consumed at such a fast rate, it’s important to consider whether your audience will remember your message a few weeks down the line. Producing an interesting and innovative video will go some way to ensuring the longevity of your message. Another approach is the idea of “campaign all the time”. Digital audiences crave fresh content, so why not give them just that, in the form of a series? A series can also drive down unit costs and give better ROI, providing you with a sustainable campaign, whilst developing your online following, keeping you relevant and talked about.

In terms of production it’s just about as low budget as you can get (well, not including the props!), with each clip showing the CEO of the company placing various unlikely items into a blender, ranging from glow sticks to iPads, golf clubs to vuvuzelas, to see if they will blend – simple, fascinating and addictive.

A successful series will have your customers always looking for the next installment, and is likely to encourage sharing – the catalyst of every great viral.

Keep them hooked, keep them wanting more!
