OK Go/Chevrolet: Top of the Viral Brand Chart this week is the latest offering from Ok Go, who teamed up with Chevrolet to produce this awesome sponsored music video for their new single. Anyone familiar with the band will know that they’re no strangers to crazy video stunts, remember This Too Shall Pass?

Their latest masterpiece shows the band driving through a musical assault course in the new Chevy Sonic, rigged with various contraptions and extending arms to play a range of instruments in perfect tune with the song. The shoot took months of planning, over 1000 instruments and 4 days of filming to complete, but it’s worth it, I love these guys!

Old Spice | Bounce: Old Spice broke new ground in the social media world back in 2010 with the hugely successful “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” campaign, followed by the YouTube standoff between Mustafa and Fabio, fighting for the role of brand spokesman.

Now the agency Wieden & Kennedy is back with a new ad for the Smell is Power range, this time featuring former NFL player, Crews. Using the tag line “It’s so powerful, it sells itself in other people’s commercials”, the muscled sports star crashes onto the set of an ad for Bounce Dryer Sheets, flexing his pecks before blasting through the ceiling on jet powered shoes!

New Jack in the Box – Marry It: Ever love a plate of food so much you wanted to marry it? Well, that’s the premise of fast food chain Jack in the Box’s latest advert. The video opens with a young man excitedly announcing his engagement, only to reveal to his shocked mother, “It’s not a girl, it’s bacon!” The man/bacon love affair ends at the alter, with the irresistible BLT cheeseburger wearing a tiny little wedding veil and the priest uttering the closing words “You may now eat the Bride”.

The fun thing about this video is that the agency behind the campaign, StruckAxiom, has taken it beyond the TV clip and created a micro site with a whole story around the love affair. Not only can you can join the #MarryBacon conversation on twitter, become a fan on Facebook and explore Neil’s Bacon Tumblr, but you can check out a range of bacon wedding gifts, order some bacon themed wedding attire and make a bacon baby!

Yes,  they actually made a bacon baby web app that allows you to upload your photo to see what your bacon baby would look like. I had to have a go so I took a picture of Christine, the latest member of the VAN team, (she’s new so she has to say yes to things like this) – here’s what her bacon baby would look like…

Facebook Parenting: For the troubled teen – Top of the bill on the Viral UGC chart this week is this rather amusing rant from a disgruntled father in response to a Facebook post by his teenage daughter. The girl wrote comments complaining about her parents and the amount of work they expected her to do around the house, so in an act of public revenge that ended with him firing a round of bullets into her laptop, her father posted this clip on her wall – Tough love!
