The Viral Ad Network guarantees traffic for your campaign – and if we don't make our numbers, we'll reimburse you in line with the shortfall.

Typically, our cost per view is from 1.5p to 15p. Costs start at £5k for a guaranteed minimum 25,000 views (50,000 plays for games). We offer a range of seeding packages to suit different budgets. What's the process?

You tell us who your target audience are and show us the game/film/interactive. If the asset is suitable (we'll say if it isn't), we'll put together a seeding plan that identifies where your audience are lurking on the internet: which interest blogs, eZines, networks, portals etc. If you think we've got the right idea, then we can sign a job agreement guaranteeing a minimum number of plays and get going.

We'll give you a log-in to our Viral Manager dashboard where you can check, in real time, how many people have played the game, how many have sent it to a friend, which sites are sending traffic to the game, how many people have clicked through to the target site etc etc...

From launch onwards, you'll have your dashboard for an instant snapshot of the campaign's performance. Additionally, your account manager will keep you informed of any new developments, great responses from users or, if necessary, any worrying trends that may need attention. At the end of the campaign, we'll send you a complete report including full stats, screenshots of placements and articles about the game and a list of sites that sent traffic your way.

I work for an agency: can we use this for a client project?

Absolutely, a large proportion of the seeding we do is for agencies acting for clients. We're used to working in this way and are aware that, at each stage, you need to check details with your client. Agency fees are included in the prices of each seeding package. Services can be white-labelled.

What are you counting as a 'view' (and how does it compare to, say, impressions)?

We register a view when someone has loaded a game fully or has clicked to play a film: this is different to other metrics such as impressions which can be clocked up without anyone ever seeing your campaign.

Our 'view' metric kicks in where intent has been shown and the user has demonstrated an active desire to engage with the campaign, meaning we're measuring genuine campaign engagement.

Sounds great: what's the process for getting started and how quickly could we be up and running?

It's probably easiest if we have a chat about your campaign on the 'phone to make sure everything's perfectly clear but, broadly, project initation looks like this:

  • You send us more details about the campaign so we can get to grips with it.
  • We both sign a job agreement to get everything formalised.
  • We get all the tech stuff set up: inserting tracking code, rolling out the dashboard etc.
  • We send over the seeding plan for your sign-off to make sure you're happy with the campaign.
  • We launch the campaign.

We can normally have a campaign ready for launch within five working days of receipt of the signed job agreement.
